EUBCE

The European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE) is a world class annual event which, since 1980, is held at different venues throughout Europe.

The EUBCE covers the entire value chain of biomass to conduct business, network, and to present and discuss the latest developments and innovations, the  vision is to educate the biomass community and to accelerate growth. The EUBCE will host a dynamic international Exhibition for companies and research labs to showcase their latest products and bringing scientists, technologists and key players together with leading Biomass industries and organizations.

We are pleased to announce that The 24th EUBCE, taking place from 6 to 9 June 2016 at RAI Congress Centre Amsterdam, The Netherlands, will be chaired by BRJ`s Editorial Board MemberProf. André P.C. Faaij, Academic Director of Energy Academy Europe and Distinguished Professor of Energy System Analysis at Groningen University.

Prof. André P.C. Faaij`s research covers, amongst others, bio-based economy, carbon capture and storage, intermittent energy sources, alternative transport fuels, energy system studies and modelling, impacts and sustainability of energy systems, technological learning and innovation in energy systems, GHG balances & accounting, energy and research policies. He works as an advisor for governments, the EC, IEA, the UN system, GEF, OECD, WEF, WEC, the energy sector and industry, strategic consultancy, NGO’s, etc. He is an advisor to various UN energy activities (including UNIDO, UNEP, FAO). He contributed to various IPCC reports, the World and Global Energy Assessment and IEA’s World Energy Outlook, covering energy systems, bioenergy, waste management and energy supplies. He published over 600 titles in scientific journals, reports, books and proceedings and he qualifies as ‘highly cited researcher’ (top 1% of research field) by criteria of Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science. Furthermore, he was appointed Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and in June 2015 he received the Linneborn Prize for outstanding contributions to the development of energy from biomass.
