Professor Takeshi Matsuura joined BRJ`s Editorial Board.

Professor Takeshi Matsuura`s research at University of Ottawa on Membrane Separation Processes is internationally recognized. Dr. Matsuura received his B.Sc. (1961) and M.Sc. (1963) degrees from the Department of Applied Chemistry at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo. He received his Doktor Ingenieur from the Institute of Chemical Technology of the Technical University of Berlin in 1965. He then joined the National Research Council of Canada in 1969. 

Professor Matsuura joined the University of Ottawa in 1992 as a professor and the chairholder of the British Gas/NSERC Industrial Research Chair. He served as a professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the director of the Industrial Membrane Research Institute (IMRI) until he retired in 2002. He was then appointed as a professor emeritus in 2003. Professor Matsuura also served at the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the National University of Singapore as a visiting professor during the period of January to December 2003, and at the Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering, University Technology Malaysia, Skudai, Malaysia, as a distinguished visiting professor, in years 2007, 2009 to 2015. He stayed at the Department of Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology of Myongji University, Yongjin, Korea, from January to April 2008 by the support of the Brain Pool Program.

Professor Matsuura has published more than 400 papers in highly-refereed journals, authored and co-authored 4 books and edited 4 books. He received many international awards and delivered plenary and invited lectures in numerous international conferences and distinguished institutions around the world.
