Professor Seeram Ramakrishna among the Six Outstanding Individuals Who Received the Green and Low-Carbon Transformational Development Award

On January 30th, 2015, the World Economic and Environmental Conference (WEC) Annual Meeting on Green and Low-Carbon Transformational Development, co-sponsored by IEEPA, UNIDO and UNESCO and themed “idea takes the lead in low-carbon reform and innovation facilitates green development”, was successfully held in the Chinese Ballroom of China World Summit Wing.

More than 150 social elites from all circles of life including government officials, scholars, experts, foreign ambassadors and leading entrepreneurs in green and low-carbon development attended the annual session. It represents the first of its kind sponsored by WEC to be held in 2015.

Guests at the session have engaged in heated discussions on current economic situation, low-carbon transformational development, urban development and energy, environmental and economic sustainability and explored ways of pursuing sustainable development and low-carbon mission in economic transformation and development so as to spread the concept and strategy of green and low-carbon development.

In order to reward pioneers dedicated to harmonious development of economy and environment and set the best models in the low-carbon era, we also held the award ceremony for pioneers and enterprises of green and low-carbon transformational development during the session. Based on professional suggestions provided by institutions and press media, 6 individuals and 12 enterprises were given the awards.

We are pleased to announce that BRJ`s International Advisory Board Member; Professor Seeram Ramakrishna, was also among the 6 individuals who took the stage to receive the prestigious Green and Low-CarbonTransformational Development Award for the year of 2014 in the Academic Field category. 

Professor Seeram Ramakrishna, Vice President of National University of Singapore, received the award for his outstanding efforts to spread advanced concepts and experience in environmental protection of Singapore as a propagandist of smart and environmentally-friendly cities.
